A derelict vessel is floating again in Shelburne.
The MV Farley Mowat was raised on Sunday by RMI Marine Ltd. after it sank in the harbour in late June.
The Canadian Coast Guard will clean the vessel of any contaminants on board.
Mayor Karen Mattatall says they are waiting for them to finish.
“Once that happens, we will be working to have it removed as soon as absolute possible.”
Mattatall says it hasn’t been a pleasant situation for the town or its residents.
She says the town is lobbying other municipalities to pressure Ottawa to write legislation to deal with derelict vessels.
