A boat that sank at the dock in Shelburne Harbour two weeks ago will be brought to the surface.
Ryan Green of the Canadian Coast Guard says the MV Farley Mowat will be raised so oil and other pollutants can be safely removed.
“We feel that the best way to make sure all the pollutants are removed and it won’t continue to be any further environmental threat is that it be raised and cleaned.”
The former anti-sealing vessel continues to leak fuel into the harbour and the Coast Guard has booms placed around the site trying to contain the pollutants.
It’s believed the vessel will be raised sometime next week.
