Nova Scotia NDP have set sights on Lunenburg as a key part of their platform to form the next provincial government.
Leader Gary Burrill says a collaborative emergency centre is a top priority for Fishermen’s Memorial Hospital.

The centre was first proposed by the NDP in 2012 through the Dexter government.
Burrill says the Liberals didn’t uphold their commitment when they were elected in 2013.
“It’s been a great disappointment that they have failed to honour it, that they have put it off and put it off and said ‘it’s coming in the future.’ Here we are at their three and a half year mark almost exactly and it hasn’t come.”
Burrill says Lunenburg would have a CEC within the NDP’s first 18 months in government.
He says they plan to spend $1.1-million on infrastructure upgrades and to increase staffing levels.
The NDP candidate for Lunenburg, Marc Breaugh, also spoke about the party’s plan.
