New Licence Plates For Bikers With Disabilities

New licence plates for motorcyclists with disabilities will help protect personal information and make it safer when people park their bikes. The new plates will replace plastic placards. Motorcyclist Tanya MacBean says the licence plates will protect personal information and keep the placards from being stolen. She pitched the idea after a motorcycle accident in 2012. The idea is to offer something different for motorcycles than the placards which are also used in cars – and are hung on rearview mirrors. Nova Scotia is the first province in Canada to offer accessible motorcycle licence plates. Minister Mark Furey unveiled the new licence plate at an event today.
