New printing services are coming to LighthouseNOW in Bridgewater.
Advocate Printing and Publishing Company Ltd. has purchased a majority of Transcontinental’s printing business in Burnside.
That transaction resulted in walking papers for 55 people at Transcontinental.
The new equipment includes a five colour press to print brochures and provide additional services on site.
It should arrive in Bridgewater and be available for use between mid-to-late August.
Publisher Lynn Hennigar says they are committed to serving the local area.
“This gives us an opportunity to provide better service, a better product and really keeps us, hopefully, on the forefront of commercial printing in Lunenburg, Queens.”
Jobs will also be created but Hennigar is not sure how many.
The deal was accepted Thursday after roughly two years of negotiations.
