This Christmas seems way more nostalgic than those gone by. Stores both local and online are selling out of the old-fashioned candy.
But if you can’t find old fashioned Christmas candy to quell those nostalgic feelings, you can always just get the candy that was big when you were a kid.
I loved the Gold Nugget or Gold Miner gum that came in a cloth bag.
Most of my favourites were garbage candy – pretty much pure sugar. Pixie Stix, Lik-A-Stik, Fun Dip.
Then there were the jawbreakers, the Swedish Berries, Jelly Tots, and who can forget the Fireballs.
Also those black licorice pipes and the Popeye candy cigarettes which you would never find in this day and age. (government, you know)
