Nova Scotia SPCA Seeking Information After Cat Shot

The Nova Scotia SPCA is looking for the person who shot a cat in the New Cornwall area this week.

Vox the cat found his way home to his owners after being shot in the head.

Upon finding the feline, the owners believed he’d been hit by a car and rushed him to the Oakland Veterinary Hospital for treatment.

A veterinarian at the hospital discovered he had been shot and had significant damage to his lower jaw.

It was also determined it was bullet fragments embedded in the cat, rather than a BB or pellets.

He’s since been through surgery and will have to be fed using a syringe for the next while.

Jo-Anne Landsburg, Chief Provincial Inspector, is leading the investigation.

“If anybody has any information they can call our cruelty line and all calls are confidential.”

If anyone heard a gun being discharged near the Back Cornwall Road between between July 30th and July 31st, they’re asked to contact the Nova Scotia SPCA.

The number for the line is 1-888-703-7722.
