Its costs under a dollar now to buy regular self serve gas in New Brunswick. Its down almost 6 cents this morning to 98.4 cents a litre. Diesel is down 1.5 cents and selling in many places for $1.20. The prices for heating oil and propane are also down in New Brunswick this morning. Here in our area, you can expect gas to take another significant drop when the Utility and Review Board sets the coming week’s prices at midnight tonight. Market analyst George Murphy of the on-line site … Consumers For Fair Gas Prices … says we can look forward to a drop of around 6 cents tonight. He tells us: “The numbers are there for it. A lot of volatility though in the numbers. But over the last week, gasoline prices are showing on the New York Mercantile exchange. When I convert those numbers to Canadian dollar values and add on your taxes, its down a perfect 6 cents.” Murphy says that should bring the price for regular self serve around here down to 96 cents a litre. He expects a 2 cent drop in diesel. Murphy also says prices will continue dropping in the weeks ahead.
