Teachers were helping to give Lunenburgers an edge on Thursday.
Local members of the Nova Scotia Teachers Union hosted a free public skate at the Lunenburg Arena.
The annual event was organized by Barbara Chapman.
She says it was a great opportunity to get out and have some fun.
“It’s something that we put on for the public. So for other people to come in and see us and to see our NSTU logo – just to be able to have chats with people – it’s a great opportunity.”
Chapman says teachers live in the communities as well and it’s fun to get out and engage with the public in a social setting.
“I guess it’s mostly just for people to see that not only are we teachers, but we also do things within our community.”
Chapman says the NSTU has organized two more open skates in the area.
The first at the LCLC in Bridgewater on December 28th followed by one in Chester on the 30th.
