Charlotte Rose Burns

Charlotte Rose Burns, 89, of Northwood Terrace passed away September 10, 2026, in the QE2.

Charlotte was born September 1, 1937, in Bridgewater to the late Daniel and Hazel MacLean. She was raised in Elmwood with her eight brothers and sisters. She graduated from New Germany High School and went on to study nursing at the Halifax Infirmary, graduating in 1958. Her career spanned many years and provinces. After retiring, she volunteered at Northwood where she eventually moved into independent living. She had a great sense of humour and a quick wit that could always make people laugh. It is safe to say she was everybody’s favourite aunt. She will be greatly missed by her many nieces and nephews, friends, and best friend Norma.

She is predeceased by her parents, Daniel and Hazel MacLean; brothers Huey, Bruce, William, Chester, Gordon, and Daniel; sisters, Margaret (Griffith) and Virginia (Wolfe); husband Allan; and son Paul.

She is survived by many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.

Memorial service for Charlotte will be held on Thursday September 24, 2026, at 1 P.M., in St. Matthew’s Roman Catholic Church, Elmwood, followed by burial in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation.

Arrangements entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home, Bridgewater, where online condolences may be left at www.sweenysfuneralhome.com
