Things remain on track for a new health facility opening in Chester. Over 100 volunteers continue to fundraise for ‘Our Health Centre’, with cash and pledges totalling over $2.7-million. The group has been busy hosting receptions across the municipality, making phone calls and seeking corporate support. Board chairperson, Don Munroe, says its been an active time for the group. He says it’s all part of building a facility that will be good for the community. He says, “It will include doctors and nurse practitioners and family practice nurses and clinics from South Shore Health will be consolidated into this building, so, there is a lot of pieces to the puzzle but the momentum is great, I think.” The group is looking to break ground once they reach the $4-million mark. Munroe says the target to start construction is November and have the centre open by August 2015.
