The Municipality of Chester officially has a new medical facility.
People are gathering to celebrate the grand opening of Our Health Centre this afternoon.
Chair Don Munroe says the $4.1-million project has been 12 years in the making.
“We’ve had so much volunteer time and so much in-kind contributions to this project that it truly is a community effort.”
Munroe says of the $4.7-million raised more than 50% came from public donations with another 30% coming from corporate investment.
He says this means the community feels a sense of ownership in the centre.
He says the centre is a huge piece of the puzzle to attract people to the area.
