As temperatures have fallen outside, they’ve also been dropping inside Park View Education Centre.
Some parents were concerned with a lack of heat at Park View last week.
Co-ordinator of Operations with the South Shore Regional School Board Andy Selig says the heating system is being upgraded as part of the $13 million renovation.
“It’s a process that was started back in May when we took the heating system down. It’s just taken a little bit longer than we wanted because we wanted to get it done right.”
Selig says an oil tank was installed in the last two weeks and work crews wanted to take care bringing the boiler system online.
“With something as serious and complex as a boiler plant heating system, it’s something we didn’t want to rush to put on. We took every precaution to make sure everything was lined up.”
Selig says the adjustments have been made and the temperatures should be back to normal by mid-day Wednesday.
