Parking at Hirtle’s Beach Subject of Public Meeting

Residents who live near Hirtle’s Beach are concerned about public safety at the summertime hotspot.

Parking at the Lunenburg Coutny beach can become a problem on a nice day, leading to more vehicles along the side of the road.

Some people believe it will be an issue for fire trucks and ambulances if an emergency situation occurs.

Director of Recreation with MODL, Trudy Payne, says a meeting will be held tonight to hear from the public.

“How they would like us as a municipality to move forward around the parking lot and whether they would like to see an expansion or what are some of the other solutions that might be proposed that we could possibly look at.”

This is the second meeting on this issue after one was also held in June.

It is scheduled for 7 p.m at the Riverport and District Community Centre.
