PC Opposition Demands Bluenose II Rebuild Questions Answered

Nova Scotia’s Progressive Conservative Opposition continues to hammer away at the McNeil Government over the seemingly, never-ending problems surrounding Bluenose II. Tourism critic Karla MacFarlane says the worst thing the government could have done was to take back ownership of the vessel before all its problems from the rebuild were corrected by contractors. She says: “Obviously, the rudder. I’m concerned about the pipes leaking and now the masts and ventilation issues. And overall too, I am very concerned about stability and I indicated that a couple of weeks ago too.” MacFarlane is calling for the government to answer the many questions that haunt the Bluenose rebuild. She says it needs to stop hiding behind the attorney-general’s on-going probe. MacFarlane says the reputations of Lunenburg and its shipbuilders are on the line.
