Around 150 people are without landline phone service this morning.
A Bell Aliant cable was damaged during King Street construction last night.
The trouble started when an excavator clipped the line around dinner time.
Crews worked over night hoping to complete repairs by early this morning.
Their new estimate will see phones back up around noon.
