Pirates Invading Lunenburg

Keep an eye out for pirates this weekend in Lunenburg.

This is the second year for the ‘Pirate Invasion’, hosted by the Rotary Club.

It attracts people from across the province and invites them to dress up and play the role.

President David Penney says it’s part of their history.

“Lunenburg itself has a long history if you will as well as Mahone Bay, of course, of pirating as well as privateers. It’s just a time out of our history that we like to celebrate.”

Events will be held all day Saturday and from 12 p.m. until 4 p.m. on Sunday.

The festival features a dance, dory races, treasure hunt and more.
