Planned overnight power outage scheduled for southwestern Nova Scotia

A large planned power outage is scheduled for parts of southwestern Nova Scotia late Wednesday night into Thursday morning.

Nova Scotia Power says the outage will begin at 11:59 p.m. Wednesday and is expected to last until 5 a.m. Thursday.

The utility says the interruption is needed so crews can complete transmission repairs at local substations.

Nova Scotia Power says customers in the affected areas should prepare for the temporary overnight outage.

The utility notes restoration times are estimates and may change depending on conditions and the progress of the work.
