Port Mouton Man Charged With Driving Impaired By Drug

A 26-year-old Port Mouton man has been charged with impaired driving by drug.

Bridgewater Police responded to a 911 call at around 8:20 last night from a concerned motorist, reporting a possible impaired driver.

Moments later, police received a second call from an employee of a local business who spotted the driver of the same vehicle, possibly driving impaired.

As a result a Drug Recognition Expert evaluated the male following his arrest and determined he was impaired by a drug.

The accused was released from custody and will appear in Bridgewater Provincial court February 27.

The driver’s license is automatically suspended for 90 days and his vehicle was seized and impounded.

In a news release, Bridgewater Police Service thanked the public for reporting the incident.
