Nova Scotia Power crews are working to restore power to about 1,600 customers.
The outage, which started around 11:30, spans from approximately Mahone Bay to West LaHave affecting areas like Second Peninsula, Blue Rocks and Feltzen South.
The utility says some equipment was damaged.
They estimate most should have power back on by 2:00 p.m.
