Nova Scotia’s premier is heading to another energy conference.
It is the third time Premier Tim Houston has visited Texas for a similar event.
The government says the goal of the visit is to keep momentum going after the province landed a major bid for offshore wind last week. In response to that announcement, the premier said it marked a major shift after years of limited activity in the sector.
At the conference this week, the premier plans to highlight the potential of the offshore energy sector to get more companies on board, according to a news release.
“Global circumstances continue to prove that we need to tap into our own energy sources to generate the energy we need to power our future, provide good-paying jobs and generate revenue to pay for the services Nova Scotians want and deserve,” the premier wrote in the release.
The conference runs Monday through Thursday and will bring together thousands of industry professionals from around the world.
