Province Seeks Input On Accessibility

The Nova Scotia government is looking for input as they develop their plan for acheiving province-wide accessibility by 2030.

The province recently appointed an accessiblity board, which includes two Lunenburg County residents.

Mark Furey, Lunenburg West MLA and minister responsible for the Accessibility Act, says to gain further input, they’re surveying the province.

“The objective is to seek input from the survey to get people’s opinions, views and experiences as to what barriers presently exist and how they see we could break those barriers down.”

Furey says in 24 hours they had over 200 responses.

“This will help us with that feedback, help the board in the work they’re continuing today and ultimately bring recommendations to myself as the minister responsible for the Accessbility Act.”

The survey is online until April 9.
