A brand new playground at Bridgewater Elementary School is one step closer to becoming a hard reality.
The province is sowing some love by kicking in $21,000 toward the project, as part of the Nova Scotia Recreational Facility Development Program.
And the good news doesn’t stop there.
“In my understanding, the Bridgewater Elementary School Playground fundraising committee has hit their target of $485,000 so that’s a huge story in itself,” says Furey. “Co-Chaired by Marcy Rogers and Megan Comstock, Travis Vaughan and others who have been very diligent and professional in their pursuit of funding to ensure that the Bridgewater Elementary School Playground becomes a reality.”
The old playground structure was taken down just last summer because of safety reasons.
Furey says there’s been some tremendous work happening in the community, and the new playground will be one small part of it.
The Town of Bridgewater kicked in roughly $70,000 toward the project.
