Province Test Driving Sunday Hunting

The door is being opened to make way for hunting seven days a week in Nova Scotia.

Hunters will be able to go out for the first two Sunday’s of the upcoming season.

That means hunting will be allowed November 1 and 8.

Natural Resources Minster Zach Churchill says the province is trying to find a balance on the issue by allowing some hunting on Sunday’s.

The province will launch an awareness campaign closer to the start of hunting season.

Up until this decision, hunting was not permitted on Sunday.

Meantime, Churchill says legislative changes will be made to clarify the distance hunters need to stay back from Christmas tree and agricultural operations.
