Pump Prices Heading Upwards Again

South Shore gasoline prices are expected to rise tonight when the UARB sets the coming week’s rates.

About two cents more per litre according to petroleum expert George Murphy.

He says recent increases are a forerunner to a drop likely next weekend resulting from lower world oil prices and over-production in the United States.

Murphy says: “Its a record build in crude inventories, about 14 million barrels which is very, very substantial. I think thats probably a record for the American Petroleum Institute. So, thats going to figure in well for next week in the consumer’s favour.”

Gas prices increased two cents a litre last night in New Brunswick with diesel up four cents.

You can still buy regular self-serve gas around here today for $1.02.7 a litre.
