Putting Prescription Drug Abuse On the Map

Nova Scotia has the highest rate of prescription drug abuse per capita in Canada.

That’s part of why Chris Cull decided to end his cross country tour in Halifax.

He got on his bike in Victoria B.C. three months ago to raise awareness about the growing national problem.

Cull says his goal was to inspire others who, like him, have battled addiction.

“No matter how hard things are, or how old you are, or how much you went through, you can come back and do great things.”

Cull says the problem is that prescription drugs are too accessible.

He says he’d like to see government and doctors working together to create a better strategy.
