People will have to give more heads-up to Queens Place Emera Centre if they can’t use their ice time.
The Region of Queens has approved a new ice rental cancellation policy.
One of the major changes is that cancellations for ice rentals must be received seven days before use instead of three.
General Manager Steve Burns says it give them enough time to try and fill prime-time slots.
“If those happen to be cancelled, we’re here to rent ice and keep the facility viable and that’s an important part of it.”
Late cancellations could cause some users half of the ice rental cost.
Burns says they work closely with users each week in case inclement weather or other factors cause a cancellation or facility closure.
