A pair of volunteers in Queens will be recognized for their efforts.
The Region of Queens selected Peter van Dyk and Mya Uhlman as their volunteers of the year.
van Dyk is past president of the North Queens Board of Trade but also lends a helping hand in coordinating Canada Day events in North Queens, as well as the annual Christmas tree for Caledonia.
Uhlman devotes a lot of time to the Caledonia United Church – she organizes or assists with the Mother’s Day Tea, Fall Fair and Memorial Tree Lighting Service. She is also vice president of the Caledonia & Area Nursery School Board.
The two will represent Queens at the Provincial Volunteer Awards Ceremony in Halifax on April 7.
