Lunenburg’s mayor feels she still has a lot to offer the community.
Rachel Bailey has announced her intention to re-offer for the position in this fall’s municipal election.
She says her focus remains on serving the people of Lunenburg.
“I still hold the office of Mayor right now and I will until October,” she says. “So, there’s always lots of business to be done here in the Town of Lunenburg.”
Bailey has served on council since 2008 and as mayor for one term.
She says the job isn’t for the faint of heart.
“It’s impossible, I think, to make everyone happy. So, I think it’s just really important to keep your attention focused on what your ultimate goals are in bettering your community.”
Bailey says Lunenburg has been steadily changing over the last several years, with more young families choosing to start a life in the area.
She says she’d like to build on what the town has done since 2012 and see what can be accomplished.
