Queens District RCMP is hoping locals once again come out in force for their annual Stuff A Cruiser event.
RCMP, in conjunction with Queens-Shelburne MLA Kim Masland’s office, will collect food for the Queens County Food Bank outside the Liverpool Superstore.
Rob James, community policing officer for Queens, says last year they beat their own record.
“Last year we set a record for the Queens County Food bank, I drive a police van, we completely filled that and then we had to bring … a pick up truck and filled that again,” says James.
He’s hoping for a similar turn out and says it’s a cause that’s dear to many on the force.
“Whatever help we can get, we’d probably stay out there all night if we could, unfortunately we all have schedules,” says James.
Speciality items like feminine products or pet food are encouraged as well and volunteers will also accept cash.
Donations can be made from 11 to 3.
