RCMP want you to spring clean your medicine cabinet.
Saturday is National Prescription Drug Drop Off Day.
Anyone with unused or expired medications can drop them off at a local pharmacy to be properly disposed of.
Corporal Jennifer Clarke says the day is for the public’s safety.
“We endorse this day for people to be able to drop-off unused prescription medication to make sure we keep them out of the hands of the wrong person.”
Clarke says pills should never be flushed down the toilet as they can pose risks to both people and the environment.
She says if you can’t make it out on Saturday, most pharmacies will accept expired meds year-round.
