RCMP Release November Impaired Driving Stats

The Nova Scotia RCMP have released last months Impaired driving statistics.

RCMP in the province charged 112 drivers with impaired related offences throughout the month of November.

In a release they say 57 drivers were charged with impaired operation of a conveyance by alcohol, 5 were charged with impaired operation of a conveyance by drug, 13 were charged with refusal of a demand made by a peace officer, and 37 were issued driving suspensions for operating a conveyance while having consumed alcohol.

RCMP say there is a wide range of driving prohibition and fines if convicted of driving while impaired.

In Nova Scotia, there are around 250 RCMP members with training related to drug-impaired driving, along with 427 trained breath technicians who are qualified to operate instruments that determine a driver’s blood alcohol level.

They ask that if you see someone driving unsafely or erratically to call 911 immediately.
