Red Cross Supports Family After House Fire

A family of six is getting help from the Canadian Red Cross following a fire earlier this week near New Germany.

The fire, which happened Wednesday at a home on Highway 208, was confined to the kitchen but caused some water and smoke damage throughout the house.

The family is staying in a hotel until cleanup and repairs can be made to their home.

The Red Cross is helping by purchasing clothing and baby needs.

**Correction** – An earlier version of this story indicated a four year-old boy suffered minor burns to his hand and arm. It was information provided by the Canadian Red Cross. However, no one was injured.
