Bridgewater is finally home for a family from Syria.
Mohamed Al Kafri, his wife Fadia and their three children arrived at the Halifax Airport on Monday.
John MacDonald and about ten others were there to greet them.
He says, helping them learn English will be the first priority.
“Also, right away, we have to get documentation for them,” he says. “We have to introduce them to the banking system, just try to integrate them as quickly and efficiently as possible.
MacDonald says there’s still a lot the public can do.
He says even something like a smile can go a long way.
