The Region of Queens is looking to play a role in bringing in refugees.
A community discussion will be held on the Syrian Refugee crisis.
CAO Richard MacLellan says they want to see what efforts may already be underway.
“There is a couple people that have started working on a path to host private-sponsored refugees as well there are residents who have some experience on the ground in Jordan and Syria.”
Council has notified Immigration Canada and the province that the community is a welcome place for immigrants.
The discussion starts at 6 p.m. this evening at the Town Hall Arts and Cultural Centre in Liverpool.
