Region of Queens To Sell Former School to Non-Profit Organization

There appears be new life for the former Mill Village Consolidated School.

The Region of Queens has approved a plan to convert it into an international boarding school.

The municipality intends to enter into a purchase and sale agreement with The Devi International Boarding School Society.

The former Mill Village school closed in 2014 after 52 years.

A proposal first came forward last October, which Mayor David Dagley says is “unique to the area and provide local jobs direct and indirectly.”

Dagkey adds, the municipally owned property could “turn into an economic driver for the community.”

A public hearing regarding the sale will be held March 28 at 8:55 a.m. inside the Region of Queens council chambers.
