Remains found two years after woman was murdered: police

Two years after a man was charged for murdering 55-year-old Esther Jones, police say they have found her remains.

It was August 31st, 2024, when Jones was last seen outside of Kingston Bible College.

Shortly after, police began investigating and charged Dale Allen Toole with first-degree murder.

Toole, who is now 56 years old, plead guilty to second-degree murder on Sept. 1, according to a spokesperson with the Public Prosecution Service.

He was detained in Houston, Texas, and arrested once he returned to Canada.

Jones’ remains were found on Sept. 9 in the woods near Cloud Lake in Annapolis Valley.

Spokesperson Cpl. Mike Robinson says he hopes recovering her remains will answer outstanding questions in the case, and give the family some closure.
