Renovations have started at Lunenburg Academy.
Dora Construction of Saint John has been hired to complete the work – which is pegged to cost about $1-million.
Development Coordinator Scott Burke says it includes upgrading washrooms, electrical components and window repairs.
“That’s probably a four to six month process, making sure that the building is ready for some tenants.”
A request for proposals is underway to attract groups into the building.
Groups have until August 31 to apply to try and access space in the Academy.
The Lunenburg Academy of Music is a current tenant in the building.
Burke believes it could become another tourist attraction in the town.
