Restrictions further relaxed at long-term care homes

The province is reporting no new cases of COVID-19, three active infections remain.

Meanwhile, the Department of Health and Wellness has announced restrictions will be further relaxed in long-term care homes.

Each resident may have two designated caregivers, but only one may visit at a time.

Those caregivers can be family members, spouses, friends, or other support people, but must have already been a support person prior to COVID-19.

Long-term care facilities will need to provide medical masks for the caregivers, train them on public health requirements, screen them before entry, and come up with a system to easily identify caregivers on site.
