School Board Electoral Boundary Changes

The South Shore Regional School Board is working to make it easier for voters next fall.

They’re applying to move their electoral boundaries to match changes made in the Municipality of Lunenburg this month.

Superintendent, Geoff Cainen, says if they didn’t make the adjustment, voters could get confused.

“Then you would have somebody saying ‘Oh, gosh, I’m in the Town of Bridgewater but my school board member is somebody from out side the Town of Bridgewater,’”he says. “That would not work at all.”

Cainen says the school board won’t lose any of it’s members as part of the shuffle.

Official approval for the change is expected in February.
