Seniors in Lunenburg county can learn how to avoid becoming a victim of fraud.
That’s one of the topics covered in the Lunenburg Country Seniors Academy.
Coordinator Alicia Van de Sande says seniors are often targets.
“That can come with isolation,” she says. “That can come with dependency on caregivers to provide things that maybe the seniors can no longer able to provide for themselves.”
The course covers other topics including safe banking, internet safety and home security.
Van de Sande says seniors let them know what topics are important to them.
The next session is expected in the next few weeks.
