A Shelburne County man is making a special visit to Ottawa to see U.S. President Barack Obama.
Kirk Cox arrives today in our nation’s capital.
The CAO for the Municipality of Shelburne ran Justin Trudeau’s leadership campaign in Nova Scotia.
Cox says he received an invite from the Prime Minister’s Office.
“I’m a bit of a political nerd, so it’s a big deal to be able to see him speak, especially now that he’s in the final months of his final mandate. This is one of the last opportunities anybody will get to see him speak in public.”
Obama along with Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto are in Canada to discuss various trade issues and climate change.
Cox will attend the American president’s address to Parliament on Wednesday.
