Shelburne is getting much-needed funds to fix up playgrounds, as well as, the Yacht Club and Marina.
$32,000 is going to build a sunroom extension on the Yacht Club and upgrade the sailing school’s boat launch.
And another $103,000 goes to the Hillcrest Academy Community Playground Society
MP Bernadette Jordan says Shelburne has wanted to upgrade the playgrounds for a long time.
“They have an amazing, dedicated group of volunteers who have worked tirelessly to the past number of years to raise the money that they needed. Because this was fifty percent of the costs,” said Jordan.
The money is part of the community improvement program in advance of Canada’s 150th birthday celebration next year.
