The Mayor of Shelburne says she’s had it with ER closures at Roseway Hospital!
Karen Mattatall says lives are at risk by lengthy ambulance trips to an alternate ER in Yarmouth.
She says: “Its an hour’s trip and that in itself is not acceptable. When we have a hospital right here, we should have the services, we should have the coverage. The Canada Health Act guarantees us access to services but we don’t seem to be getting them.”
A public meeting is planned for this evening to discuss the Roseway ER issue and determine what can be done.
It begins at 7 o’clock at the Shelburne Community Centre.
