The Parade of Lights in Shelburne will go ahead as part of Founders’ Days. The popular event was in jeopardy of being dropped because it was hard to find organizers who need to get sponsorship and boats to take part in the parade. However, a few Facebook posts later and members of the community got the ball rolling. Co-organizer Donna Rennehan took to social media and her Facebook page to try and drum up interest. She says the parade is a crowd pleaser and felt the event is important for the community. She feels it adds a big boost to the economy and local businesses. Founders Days kicks off Thursday with a large fireworks show set for Friday. The Parade of Lights will be held Saturday evening.
