The Town of Shelburne wants the province to show them the money.
The Nova Scotia government approved a $25-million loan package to Cooke Aquaculture in 2012, based on the company’s commitment to build a salmon processing plant.
However, the company says it has no plans to build the plant in Shelburne.
Mayor Karen Mattatall says a letter has been sent to the premier.
“We want the money that was earmarked for that fish processing plant to be dedicated directly to economic development in Shelburne County, as it was originally intended to do.”
The plant was expected to create up to 400 full-time jobs.
Below is the letter to Premier Stephen McNeil.
