Shelburne: Warden Questions Timeline Of New Health-Care Centre

Frustration is mounting over the lack of progress on a new heath-care centre in Shelburne.

The Nova Scotia government provided $1.65-million last August to renovate and expand the old clinic building near Roseway Hospital.

However, a proposed schedule shows construction won’t start until this August, stalling the centre’s opening until next May.

Municipality of Shelburne’s warden, Roger Taylor, says this is unacceptable.

“How much planning? How much design work can you actually do on a project of this size? I think it’s time to get on with the job.”

On a positive note, Taylor says he is pleased to see more nurses and paramedics hired at Roseway.
