Emergency responders will conduct a mutual aid practice this weekend.
It will see firefighters from eight departments practice their response time to a simulated fire at the Louisiana Pacific Corporation plant in East River.
The Regional Emergency Management Organization, paramedics, RCMP and the province’s Department of Public Safety are also involved.
Fire Services Coordinator, Bruce Blackwood says training is essential to maintain operational readiness and safety.
“It gives us the opportunity to work and train together so we know each other’s equipment and practices that go along with firefighting.”
The exercise will start at 8 a.m. Sunday and wrap-up around 11:30 a.m.
There will be temporary traffic control in place along Highway 3 and Highway 329.
