A smoking light fixture caused a bit of a stir at White Point Beach Resort. The Liverpool Fire Department responded to the call around 10:45am on the ground floor of the main lodge. The resort’s Communications and Marketing Coordinator, Donna Hatt, says the incident was dealt with before officials arrived. She says the fire department was called as a precaution. She says, “They always come regardless and we never turn them back because where there is smoke, you worry there might be fire. They double checked it for us and they were gone again in 25-30 minutes.” Hatt says it was a minor inconvenience for guests, but things have returned to normal.
