South Shore: Police Hope For Happy/Safe Halloween

South Shore RCMP are hoping it’s a safe Halloween. Police will have extra officers working this evening and they will be looking for out any suspicious activity or vandalism. They are asking motorists to drive slow in residential areas especially while kids are trick or treating. Some tips for homeowners include keeping an outside light on, making sure pets are indoors and not to invite children inside your home. It’s also a best practice to only give out commercially wrapped candy and snacks. Police also encourage those using fireworks to do so safely and say it’s illegal for anyone under 18 year-old to buy, carry or set off fireworks in the street.
